We Build Fountains for Pets Who Deserve Better (And Guardians Who've Been Let Down)

This Started With a Loss. And a Promise.

On March 14th, 2019, I held my 18-year-old cat Luna as the vet ended her suffering from total renal failure. Then the vet said something that broke me: "If she'd been drinking more water throughout her life, we might have caught this earlier."

I walked out carrying an empty carrier and a question that would consume the next two years: Why didn't I know?

I was a diligent pet parent. I kept her bowls clean. I did everything right. But I didn't understand that "doing everything right" with a water bowl was fighting against 10,000 years of feline evolution.

Luna paid the price for my ignorance.

The 47 Fountains That Failed

I made a promise: I would never let another pet suffer the way Luna did.

So I bought every top-rated fountain I could find. The plastic flower ones. The ceramic ones. The "smart" ones with apps.

Every single one failed the same way: Within 2-3 months, I'd find pink mold in the pump housing, brown gunk in the gaskets, bacterial slime in crevices I couldn't reach.

I'd spend 30 minutes scrubbing with Q-tips, wondering if I was making my pets less healthy. Then I'd give up, and the guilt would return.

I realized the problem wasn't that fountains don't work—it's that they're designed by people who don't understand the real problem.

60% of fountain buyers abandon them within 6 months. Not because their pets won't use them, but because the maintenance burden becomes unsustainable.

The Solution Luna Deserved

We spent two years asking: "If we could design a fountain from scratch, what would it look like?"

These breakthroughs changed everything:

We designed for maintenance reality (3 parts instead of 12, 2-minute cleaning)

We used 304 surgical-grade stainless steel (the same alloy used in hospital operating rooms—built to last 10+ years)

The Results

Since 2024, we've placed 12,847 fountains in homes across 37 countries. 94% of cats drink more within 72 hours. Zero pump failures. $2.1M in estimated preventable vet visit savings.

But the metric that matters most: guardians emailing us to this day: "I wish I'd had this for my previous cat."

We're working to make sure the next generation of pets doesn't have to be the "I wish I'd known" generation.

Because you're not just a customer. You're a fellow guardian.

And every pet deserves to live the longest, healthiest life possible.

In loving memory of Luna (2001-2019)
